Lankeshwar temple is an ancient Shiva temple in the western part of Guwahati. It is on the way to airport and close to Guwahati University.
Lankeshwar is on the top of a hill and has about 450 steps. The climb is very beautiful and a temple of Shani (Saturn) is found on the way. A huge statue of a crow is placed on a pedestal at the entrance of Shani temple since crow is believed to be the vehicle of the planet Shani.
The main shrine of Lord Shiva is under renovation. But visitors can have darshan of lord Shiva in the Sanctum.
