Folk music is the origin of all genres of music in the universe. Whether vocal or instruments- everything evolved from folk. The lec-dem by Dr Kuruva Basavaraj gives an overall vision of this music- its origin; instruments played; temple music and many features of folk music. The Lec dem would be accompanied with Audio and Visuals on folk singing and instruments.

Dr Kuruva Basavaraj a scholar of high repute is an expert in Folk music. He has done Doctoral research on the topic Jaanapada Mahakaavyagala nirmana pratibheya nelegalu under the guidance of Prof. Ki.Ram.Nagaraja. He has delivered many lectures and demonstrations on Folk music in various seminars, conferences and universities. Basavaraj received fellowship from Karnataka Janapada Academy for advanced research on Folk music. He was a nominated member of Karnataka Janapada and Yakshagana Academy and also member of several Government organizations. Currently he is serving as a Curator in the prestigious Janapada Loka, Ramanagara, Karnataka.
