Sukreshwar temple is located in the Pan bazaar locality of Guwahati on the southern bank of river Brahmaputra. The temple was built by Ahom King Pramatta Singha ( 1744-1751).
From behind the compound of Sukreshwar temple, there are flight of steps leading to river Brahmaputra. One can get boats or ferries from this place to cross over to opposite bank or to visit Umananda temple at Peacock Island.
